Save Your Clips with Eclips

Funny and useful video clips are one of the best things about the internet. From the classics like Charlie Bit My Finger, to instructional videos that help you learn skills, some videos are worth watching again and again. This often means repeatedly visiting the same sites and therefore opening lots of adverts or doing lots of searching. Eclips is a Chrome extension designed to save time by letting you save those videos locally, plus it’s free to use.

Save Videos in Five Seconds

Eclips promises to let you save videos in five seconds, which is quite a claim! This works by using quick buttons and a little slider, so you click the scissors in your browser, then slide the bar to choose which part of the video you want, then tick to save it. This is the benefit of a browser plugin, as it’s always ready to use, you don’t have to install much at all. This software is handy for saving videos from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and so on, but it actually saves them like a collection, rather than downloading the video to your PC.

A Useful Shortcut

The main benefit of Eclips is for those times when you see a funny video that you want to share, but you don’t want to fiddle around saving the URL. Just click a few buttons and save it for later. A nice addition would be a download option.

PROS

  • Save whole videos or just clips.
  • Simply add to Chrome, no big installation.

CONS

  • No option to save locally.
